It's an Ariel Atom. Uses Rover/MG 220 engine + trans, mounted behind the seats.
P.S. Nice Avatar - where did you get it? Or maybe you know the young lady, personally?

there are also some atoms about with honda k20 engines out of honda civic type-r's they were entered in britsports last year..

In the show I seem to recall Clarkson saying that one had a supercharged Vtec Engine with 300BHP

I got it off a CD that I bought on Ebay for my phone. It had loads of animated .gifs on it.
