225 or 235 40 18 tyres

Long shot but looking for some 225/40/18s or 235/40/18s new or with lots of tread.

May we ask what car you have such enormous wheels on? 18" wheels are quite large and from experience seem to offer a harsh ride.


ETA...I had a Seat Leon with 17" wheels and low profile tyres on it and suffered a few punctures where the low profile tyres didn't like potholes.

Id say a BMW with those tyre sizes, I think the 3 series had an option for 235 and 225 (although front only) amongst others.

You kidding?

225 40 18 are one of the most common sizes about now. Even run of the mill cars now are running on 18s. Even my Ickle fiesta St is on 17s.

Our neighbours just bought an X5 that sits on 20 inch rims now they are big. I'm just waiting for him to wince when he needs tyres for it

My mistake then - to me 18" seems big (too big for many cars anyway) - I remember when 15" was seen as big!

Its an old S4 Audi Quattro 4.2 v8 avant so should have 235's really

OK - can see an S4 with 18" alloys on it (still large to me).
