R1 Big Bang engine mods

Hi,

I'm about to embark on the process of removing my rather tired 1998 R1 engine from my Fury and replacing it with the 2011 model.

What engine mods are required? I know the ECU will need remapping.

The '98 model needed a windage plate/baffle in the sump and some carb mods to cope with the changed breathing, but that was it. Looking around, on forums I've read that this model may not need the baffle, (but if anyone has fitted a baffle can they post a photo so I can break-out the tin-snips and copy it.)

I also see references to mods to the breathing system for the 2008 variant of this engine, are they still needed in this model?

Unsure on the mods required, but do expect to have a big cut out in your bonnet for the airbox to poke out of!

If it must have an airbox then I'll probably have to fabricate one myself. If the bell-mouths are too close to the bonnet then I plan to change the rubber mounts for the throttle-bodies and get them a bit more horizontal.

Pretty sure they run 8 injectors, the second row above the bell mouths hence people sticking with the standard airbox
