Heat Shielding
What type of exhaust manifold heat shielding are people using.
Don’t want to wrap my manifold but need someway of protecting my carbon effect ABS side panel.
Can’t afford to ceramic coat my manifold so any ideas will be much appreciated.

Search "heat shield mat" on ebay. Tons to choose from. Apply to panel.
I would just wrap the manifold.

What is the problem with the book route of using perforated sheet metal?
Beware of what you wish.. for it may come true....

To protect various delicate parts I used a mixture of wrapping manifold, standoff heat shielding using 3mm ally sheet covered with reflective material
on the hot side and heat mat on the outer face.
I also used cool air ducting for the alternator as air is drawn through the rear which is often close to the manifold

Thanks for the suggestion
Seen the self adhesive material on eBay just unsure how good it is. Tried wrapping on a previous project and it’s not easy to get a really good
professional finish plus it’s nasty stuff to use.
Worst case scenario I can use my ABS panel as a template and make a new panel out of a more suitable material.

If you look half-way down page 10 of my build diary (https://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/forum/66/viewthread.php?tid=205146&page=10) you will see
some photos and description of what I used. Basically a butchered heat shield from a scrap car - very affective.
If it ain't broken, fix it anyway (just because).

Thanks
Had a look and it’s definitely a option.
