CBR1000
Just bought a CBR1000 engine.
It could be a lump of junk, but even if I have to break it or sell it for spares, I think I did ok. The starter, alternator and carbs have to be worth
this alone...

Best option so far is www.postvan.com who will move a pallet up to 150kg for £69.95 + vat which is £82
Not too terrible. That would make an all up price of £144 quid - delivered to the door.
Obviously not an R1, but I am poor

you for your ebay user ID.
£55 + Vat - £64.62

Good choice my man! What ancillaries did you get? Fingers x'ed you got the water manifolds from each side of the engine.
If it's a fairly late model (flat slides) I may be able to help you out - I'm putting my CBR1000FP on to F/Injection this year and will be
letting go of carbs and ECU.
Make sure the carbs you are given match the engine. It may transpire your engine is a stolen recovered (mine was), and has no 'proper'
number. Let me know if I can be of any help.
p.s. have a clutch master cylinder for a CBR, free to good home.

You know, I haven't a clue what I'm getting apart from a fully dressed engine and carbs. Anything else - loom, CDI, reg, would be a
pleasant surprise.
I will definitely take you up on your offer of carbs and ECU when the time comes.

I have carbs and ECU/CDI already with mine, i have however nabbed the clutch master cylinder though
Not sure how i can convert it into a foot operated jobbie yet
(yes suggestions would be appreciated!)

I will be getting from kissy the bar mounted lever operated clutch master cylinder and i already have the engine mounted slave cylinder.
relatively little force is required to operate the clutch by hand not to mention the short pushrod travel. If you were to convert it into a foor pedal
hardly any pressure would be required (hard to control) especially with a long lever (pedal) resulting in a very very sensitive clutch dont you think?

What some have done is to fit a 'handlebar' to carry the clutch (bit dodgy if you ask me) but looks the biz, esp. with all the bike
switchgear. It will be easy to mount the cylinder on a strategically welded bit of tube (1"/1.125" dia???) and have either a cable or
ball-jointed link (may have just what you need in my box-a-tricks). I did this type of thing years ago with the brakes on a YZ250 engined kart,
worked perfectly. Bonus of using the bike m/c is you get the right ratio assuming you get the pedal ratio correct. One thing, use a firkin good
return spring to load the pedal, my clutch has little travel, and is really light (legs are a tad stronger than knuckle grips - except for the right
knuckle of C******m drivers). I've mentally put the ECU & carbs aside for you!
