its a zx9b, between model b1 from 94 to b4 in 97.

a frame number would limit this down to a specific year. frame numbers start zx900b on this model, the number after indicates the age:

0 - 18000 is 94
to 28k is 95
to 38 is 96
38 onwards is 97.

HTH, Joel.

im guessing that you could compare the number to other engines of known age, or maybe ask kawasaki to link it up to a chassis number.

If you get the haynes manual, it has a list in the front giving engine/frame numbers and years. Maybe the SVA nazis will accept that as proof. depends which way the winds blowin' on the day.
