Short propshaft on BEC middy

I notice a lot of people have a bearing on their propshaft - Is this needed and why?

I am building a BEC Middy and as such have hardly any propshaft length so fitting bearing in etc will be a bloody nightmare!!!

its only needed on a bec due to the extra length, and maybe the bend also. The vibrations get much worse with length. no need on a short shaft!

Excellent - the last thing needed was to have to move the diff back or engine forward - not a lot of room as it is!!!
