Ram air with busa(no airbox)

Does anyone run a busa with out a airbox?

If so how did you go about doing it? I have heard you need a stand alone engine management like the power commander.

You obviously dont get any Ram Air effect without an airbox but then the effects of ram air are fairly minimal at the speeds we can achieve, its only when you're getting to 150+mph that the most gains happen.
The busa can be run with a regular sausage filter by putting the air temp sensor from the airbox into the backplate of the sausage filter. Most do run a Power Commander or suchlike, but it is possible to do it just by upping the fuel pressure a little over standard. This doesnt sound a particularly scientific method of doing it but a friend of mine used this method for 3 years of trackday use with his Megabusa without issue apart from copious flames from the over-un from the exhaust
