HELP !!! Blade info needed !

When looking to get a blade engine, what parts will I need and is there any specific type of blade engine to look out for ?

Do all blade engines give out the same power, reliability, gearbox, etc ???

Any other info for buying a blade much appreciated

Raj

Any 'blade engine from '92 to '99 will do you fine, i.e. any of the carb engine'd models.
All engines are pretty much of a muchness really, post 96 ones are 919cc rather than 893cc, and obviously there are a few mods and improvements over the years, but all very minor so there's not a lot to chose between any of them (later engines are about 5bhp up on an early engine). the only thing to think about is if you are SVA'ing, a pre-95 engine will be a lot easier/cheaper to get through emissions, as you won't need a catalyst in the exhaust. I'd also try to avoid the 2000 onward fuel injected engine unless you're really up for a challenge, they aren't really any more powerful, but the loom on those engines is a lot more complicated and you'd need a Cat for SVA like any other post '95 engine.
There's a few lists floating around and many posts on the Yahoo BEC list detailing what you need for a BEC conversion, try searching on there, or have a look here for starters:
