Common problem - mount on a heat sink and up the front to keep cool. I've heard figures of £30~£40 but not sure if that's good or not. I believe you can buy heavy duty one's from somewhere... somone will add I'm sure.

Hi Kevano,

WHat you are looking for is a small metal device about 8cm x 8cm, it has a large white plug going into it with three thick yellow wires and two other coloured wires.

You can clearly see it in this pic between the header tank and the air filter.

They are often located in the engine bay but also often under the dashscuttle and sometimes above the passenger footwell.

Rich.

I think you can get uprated ones that are much better so I would recommend getting one of them, I think some others have got them so should tell you where to get one.

When you say it died again, was this that the engine cut out? or was it just that there was not enough power to start the engine?

it started missing then cut out then bumped it ran for a while then died again! you can drive it round all dayand it's fine but drive it for about 30_40 mins with lights on and it soon starts to miss again and if you stall it or you're too far from home you're buggered!

Don't tell me. Let me guess................

You're currently in the process of buying every Honda 250 Superdream Reg/Rec in the country. You are then going to set up shop and sell them to all Fireblade owners with faulty reg/recs and make a nice tidy profit

Can I have my prize now?

The old was always hot watever
was on. Yep soon as lights went on
if rectifier is not charging 40 mins is
good..i had two go that way & one over charging
blows light bulbs instant!!These superdream
ones run so cool at all times no need for this heatsink lark that dont work anyway!

You ok for wireing the
extra wire in? Simply
goes to a dc conection on
loom ( as in a 12v suppy that has been thro the rectifier ) not to batt +
