What problems are you having? I too fiddled with one of the mixture screws. I get huge amounts of fuel pouring out of the carb breather.

I thought it was the fuel pump but it happens even when it's gravity fed...So I now think it is a problem with the mixture screw.

Are you getting the same issue?

my problem is that it is running rich ,its fowling new spark plugs in 4 miles ie 15 mins of running backfiring missing .

i orginanly had the same broble as you the pump was to powerfull and chucking fuel out of the breather,i have fitted a blade pump now but i think it may be faulty.

have you checked your floats in the bottom of the carms sounds like there sticking causing it to flood and pour out of the breather.

yeah, I disassembled everything and sprayed the indivivual bits clean with carb cleaner. When I felt the floats, they seemed to move in and out OK. Do you think this has anything to do with the mixture screw?

I'm certain at this point that the fuel pump is not the probel. I say this because it happens even when I funnel the fuel into the carbs. Any suggestions?

i spoke to mac1 today they suggested that i take the floats out by knocking out the small retaining pin in each carb.then you can check those needle valves they have a black tip to them make sure its clean and spray some carb cleaner down the holes.

as for the mixture screws ive been told different settings between 2-5 screws out each set of carbs are different i guess.

i will be having another go over the weekend

Mixture screws are only for idle jets. Main jet size would agjust the overall mixture. Usually with through exhaust it needs to be richer. Are you sure its running rich?
