ZX9R occassional Oil leak!

Whilst getting the engine running i checked for the usual oil and water leaks. Everything seemed fine except once, when a small amount of oil leaked out between stoping and starting the engine. This only happened once an i put down the the very cold weather affecting the rubber seals. But when i stripped down the oil pump (whilst cleaning and spraying the engine) i found that there was some deep pitting/corrosion on the oil pump shaft, exactly where the seal seated. There must have been some water trapped in the seal when the engine was left lying around before we bought it. A new shaft is less than £10 so i have ordered one.

Just thought this may be useful to somebody.
