instruments
where can i find an instrument set. I need the following:
tacho (suitable for blackbird engine)
speedo and sensor
oil pressure
water temp
fuel level
with all senders
Ive seen some all in 1 units but are far too expensive so if anyone got any ideas.
Id like it to be cheep cos i dont like spending a lot on parts that dont make the car go any faster.

well ive seen the stack systems for bout 6 or 7 hundred
or spa tacho and speedo for £360
i was looking for the whole lot for 150 to 200

I looked around for a full set of matching dials
tacho (suitable for fireblade engine)
speedo and sensor
water temp
fuel level
with all senders
and ended up paying £400+ new 12000+ tacho's are £160+ 
Should look nice though (I hope)

well i used "digidash" and i know jaspers now got one, there £500 but are the dogs danglys and do the same as a £2K stack set up,
oil press
oil temp
speedo
tacho
fuel
water temp
shift lights, fully adjustable at the touch of a button
gear indicator
6 aux lights, main, dip, fog, ind ect......
Lap timer, Data logger..down loads to PC
0-60 timer
also can be hooked up to sat nav, for the price IMO you won't find better, iv'e had mine in over a year now and had no probs at all, oh, and i just
sent it in for a free upgrade..........
think you will struggle to get "decent" stuff for the price your looking at....

who supplys these dashs?
does it come with all that stuff as standard and with all sensors etc?
sounds too good to be true.

customautotech. think you have to pay VAT now though, i had one of the 1st ones when they where just starting out, #003, if the pic don't work look
at the pics in my archive, "Dash"
to get it to do everytrhing i had to buy one extra oil press sensor and a fuel sensor, bout £30 if i remember rite,

Looks like it may be a good investment.
So is the blue MK GT1 yours then? If so is it much better than an indy?

The Blue GT1 belongs to MK engineering but he has been such a nice chap and allowed me to race it in the RGB series this year, is it better than the
MK Indy ?
well the Indy is probably the best 7 around, and on £££'s for smiles then it is the best 7 around, the GT1 is a totaly different car so can't realy
be judged against it, that said, IMO it is a much quicker car, better handling ect....but it's a mid engined road/track racer so its going to
be.........and looks, well make your own mind up on that one......

ETB Instruments now sell the Digidash, it comes with everything you need, senders for oil temp + pressure, water temp, fuel, accelerator, software to
set up and do all your data-logging from a lap-top (well cool on track days!). Also has an excellent manual and the chaps at ETB are really helpful.
You not gonna find better or cheaper.
Cheap alternative is to use the bike instruments, with 'yellow box' to sort the speedo.

Jon, do you use the oil temp feature? Our blade lump is a '96 and doesn't seem to have a sensor for temp. Have you put one in yourself? If so,
couldn't upload a piccy could you?

It allows you to adjust the speedo feed to compensate for inacurate sensor readings etc. All explained far better than me on the site

just drill n tap the sump for sensor, or buy/make an adapter to screw into origional hole, think jasper may have gone that route from what he tells
me.....

Thanks Jon. Don't think ours has an original hole, at least I can't find one and the wiring diagram in the Haynes manual doesn't mention temp only
pressure.
I think we'll go for the hole in the sump plan

if you do go that way make sure you go for a "thick" part of the sump wall, or have a plate weld'd on just to make sure it don't come loose,
you can get a bit to screw into the "origional" pressure warning switch hole though with several outlets to fit different sensors into........ try
ETB or spk to jasper, i know he as done summat in that area........
