ZX12-R battery wiring

Ok i have the manuel but im still confused. I just trying to sort the main power and earth.

So far i have gathered that the earth from the engine goes to the (-) on the battery. The cable with the red shielding from the starter relay goes to the battery(+) but i need to clarify where the other cable from the starter relay goes and also where the black cable from the starter motor goes.

I am presuming these go together but i am trying to figure out how they went on the bike and it doesnt look like that.

Noooooo

Do you still have the original battery tray with all the fuses/bike down sensor/relays in?

IIRC there are two thick black wires, one black wire (red shroud?) connects to the bottom of the battery tray which in turn goes to the battery positive. The other goes directly to the negative terminal, the starter also has it's own earth tot eh engine which is what the copper rings/washers are for.

Hope this helps.

Steve

I still have the battery tray and i have the vehicle down sensor starter relay and fuses. I have taken a look on your site at this picture:

And i didnt have a cover ontop of the relays etc and can you tell me if there is anything on the right hand side of the battery tray cause i cant see we have anything there but there are some holes which looked like some pop rivuts were.

You say the one black wire with the red shroud connects to the bottom of the tray but i cant see anything at the bottom of the tray its just plastic.

Also in your picture it looks like the red shroud goes straight to the battery ?

The other black wire doesnt have a battery terminal on the end it has a big bolt with a rubber cover on it.

Sorry still confused.
