orrible nasty noises

Put the back of my car on axle stands today to check that the speedo sensor was working. With the engine in gear and on tickover, there are some really nasty mechanical 'clunking' noises which seem to eminate from the propshaft (but its hard to tell), as soon as i press the throttle and revs rise above 1500rpm the noise stops. Iv'e checked all the bolts etc, but can find nothing wrong.
Any idea's anyone?

TIA

Most likely just the diff and prop clanging around because there is no load on them as the wheels are up in the air. Probably nothing to worry about unless it does it when you are driving too, the drive train is generally pretty noisy on a BEC at the best of times!

iv'e got next week off work, and am hoping to finish the thing,so hopefully an ever so slightly illegal blast is on the cards.

Most bike boxes have around 30 degrees of play, it originates from the dog clutch engagement desin that lets you shift without a clutch. Under no load the box will constantly be loading and unloading the prop as the wheels accelerate immediatley dont worry it should pass once the wheels are loaded
