MotaLiera update
Made my rack mounts today and fixed them on, plus welded the last bracket for the reverse starter motor.
I should be getting my side rails back tomorrow from being rolled. Things are coming along nicely!

I'm sure you've thought of this already, but will there be a failsafe to stop you engaging the reverse if the car's still in gear?
Otherwise you could end up cranking the engine backwards

That is the simple bit.
Use a supply off the neutral light to power the starter relay.
I will also have a lift up "doomsday" switch to operate it.
3 positions Off/ON/Start.
In the On position, if neutral is selected, the reverse light will come on.
The Start position is sprung so that it returns to the ON position, the moment you release the pressure. This will act as a safety.

The car is already built in my head and I have most parts except tank and driveshafts (I have the lobros and cv's though!).

You should see my other thread.
£275 + £26 for gaiters/mounts + £75 drawing fee (taking the p*ss) + vat
Total £466.50 from Titan Motorsport.
My last rack 3 years ago from them cost £250 all in.
I didn't find out all of these 'extras' on my creditcard until after the rack arrived.

Yes it is a two seater. Just imagine the Atom but with a bike engine instead.
Here is a couple of pics of the side rail templates in place. I should be getting the 1 1/2" copies back tomorrow.

You seem to have missed the fact that building a car is supposed to be a long, drawn-out and frustrating affair. At the rate you're going
it'll be on the road in a couple of weeks!

I don't know if it's my perspective but it looks very large. What's the overall size going to be compared to a Locost or Atom?

That's the trouble with wide angle lenses!
Apart from the nosecone it is quite short. The rear is slightly longer than the atom, but narrower too, so the rear wishbones are longer. This will
help improve handling.
It should also be a lot lighter.
