Steering shaft/link bar
Hi
At last my modified steering shaft has returned after being with them MK since April. Slid it onto the rack spline but cannot get it onto the
triangled shaft as it just appears to be too long, the end of the colum is jammed hard againt the joint even if I pull the steering wheel back against
it bearings it will not fit. Is it OK to cut the triangled section of existing column down and drill a new hole for the clamp peg to locate in. The
length of the new modified section is 680mm from weld to weld. Is that the standard length?
Regards
Barry

If it's just the trianguler part of the steering column that's stopping the shaft fitting you can slid it back into the outer steering
column shaft. It might need a tap with a soft faced hammer to start it moving.

You should be able to push/knock the triangular section up into the column.
