I had the 929 rry engine fitted in my last MK Indy great engine, bullet proof,no sump mods required, power wise, not far off the r1's,just make sure you have the ecu and matching key, honda's hiss system, without them you will not get it running.
You will also need a power commander to help get it though sva,and help to get the best out of the engine,I also had a itg foam filter fitted to mine.
There's a video of mine at cadwell park on Hellfires webb site to give you some idea of what you can expect when your up and running, theres also a few pictures in my archive, anything else I can help you with let me know, good luck with the build.

Hi again Paul,

Sorry to be a pain, where did you get the engine cradle from and how much?

Your layout looks great, can you give me a few more details about how you decided to lay it all out and what you used?

I watched your vid and your car look damn quick! I smiled when you took that Porche

Cheers,

O

hi, I went to MK on wednesday to have a look around and a talk about their kits. They were dead frindly and helpful. They said the would make up a cradle for 90.
On their pricelist it says 105 for a fireblade not sure if it includes powdercoating.

Cheers for that Craig.

Paul I spoke with Martin at RoadRunnerRacing and he says he only have the jig for the Carbed Blade Engine. Did you get yours made as a one off?

The bad thing for me is that he need the car and he is way too far away from me

DAMN IT!!!

YEAY!!!! I spoke to MK who say thay can do the manifold for the 929 RRY for £270 (That is for the 4-1). He is getting prices for me to do a 4-2-1. the other plus side is that he does not need the car! GREAT!

This is for the stainless steel system too

Paul,

Where did you get the ITG Foam Filter and Fitment kit from? How much was it?

Any other engine advice for me as I am about to mount it? i.e. spacing, clearance, etc...

Cheers,

O

Bought the filter from merlin motorsport, supplied with a blank base plate, just had to cut the holes for the throttle bodys,it was around £100
Mounting the engine, you don't want your sump sticking out more than 20mm to 30mm maximum below your bottom chassis rail,to ensure you don't have ground clearance problems, and as usual try to keep the gearbox output to prop angle as straight as possible,no more than 7 degree angle max, prop uj's wear out rapidly above this angle,so the straighter this angle the better,if you keep to that height and angle the engine should be in its best position for your instalation.

Here are a few pics from our ongoing 929 Phoenix build. Engine cradle is all ally with rubber bushes at the chassis pickup ends.
Manifold is a reworked 929 item and is , of course, Titanium. We make virtually everything in-house.
Some sources advise steering clear of the 929. Does anyone know why?
Has anyone had any problems with oil surge?
We have a "big-wing" type sump with a horizontal baffle in it. We hope that this is enough.
Does a Power Commander make much difference? We are keeping the standard airbox. Any tips or experiences gratefully received.
Geoff and Eldon.

Looks great, but what about the H-VIX system (servo, exhaust valve, and air box flap)? Is that discarded or about to be reinstated?
Mine came with loud exhaust, air flap removed, and power commander. I re-installed the stock exhaust (to meet track regs), and flap, and removed the power commander. Seems just as fast but pulls better at low speed.

We are retaining the standard airbox and flapper. The HIVEX is removed apart from the servo. Silencer is a standard ZX9 (or might be ZX12) in Titanium.
This is all aiming towards passing noise test at trackdays.
The car will never see any road use so will a Power Commander be worthwhile?

Out of interest, do you still have the power commander. Are you selling it?
Geoff.
