Weight of my BEC
Weighed my rolling chassis today with bodywork, loom and polo rad all in it to make sure its as close as possible to what it will actually weigh on
the road.
It came out at 334KG's!
I'm pretty please with that, considering it has a full roll cage and runs 15" alloys.
Just wondering how much people reakon a fully filled engine, prop and engine cradle will add?
Everything else I can think of is in the car minus cooling liquid, brake fluid, and fuel.
I think sub 500kgs is possible!
Just to let you all know, I bought 4 sets of scales from tesco, and checked they are all accurate by weighing myself (i'm 15 stone) and then put
one under each wheel, as the most any one scale registered was 16 stone I am confident that the figure is accurate.
Not bad for £12!

I recently had mine weighed when it went for suspension setup. All up weight with half a tank was 482kg. Fireblade engine. Mine could lose a bit too
so I suspect as long as you don't go mad you'll come in sub 500kg.

I reckon:
engine = <70kilos
prop = <10kilos
cradle = <5kilos
fluids = <5kilos
brake fluid = <1kilo
fuel = However much you put in!!!
lighting kit? = <10kilos
I reckon you are right <500 kilos should be possible - see I told you that you should go BEC!!!!!!!!!

Lighting kit was in the same box as the loom.
so 334+90 is 424kgs, even with me in it I will be close to 500kgs!!
thats awesome!
cheers for the encouragement steve - I get the feeling it will be a gooooooood move

It was better than this one!
You might have the RSPCA after you now.
Tell them about the bent treacle edges!
