SVA pass - Glasgow Hooray!!!

Remarkably the car went straight through at Glasgow and got the certificate. Only problem was a brake cable that snapped during the test but I had a spare in case. The tester was exceptionally fair and was obviously looking at overall safety and build quality rather than nit-picking.

He told me some horror stories and cars that were so bad he refused to test them. One last week had a wooden floor held on with gaffer tape and painted silver!

Off to the pub!

Cheers

Gary

Nice one Gary must be a great feeling, any problems with those rear seat belt mounts we talked/wrote about recently?

Cheers

Rich

Thanks folks

Richard - the tester was quite happy with the mounts. I had brought pics of the build which showed the bits below the frame. ie 12 inch solid rod tigged to a bracket on the frame cross member. Tube and fillet reinforcement at top of frame, tigged and plugged. Its probably the strongest part of the car!

Cheers

Gary

Well done! I was supposed to be there today as well but I had to put my test back a couple of weeks as I am still repairing stuff!

Well done, it's always good to see another Locost get through. That's a good looking car.

Well done! Good luck with the DVLA.

We've had some great blats out through the Borders in the past couple of years. I think the Etterick Valley is probably my favourite road up there.

Cheers

Just itching to get out now and see what it really feels like on the roads.
RobH - motor is a 2l pinto with stage 2 head and twin 40s, lightened flywheel and raised sump. I bought it complete from someone who had crashed a Tiger super 6.

Guinness - any time you are doing a Borders blast again let me know - you would be welcome to come to Peebles for a visit

cheers

Gary
