Balancing Carb's
Probably a long shot but worth a try….. I’m due to attend a trackday a week on Sunday and my car carbs are in desperate need of balancing (Been fully
apart and now running badly)
As the car has no MOT, tax or insurance I can’t risk driving it anywhere, does anyone have a set of gauges I could borrow for an hour or two (Or if
you don’t want to risk lending out tools an hour of your time) in exchange for some beer tokens?
Car is currently located in between Rotherham and Maltby.
Thanks
Duncan

Gunson carb balancers are very cheep and for the price are verry accurate.
We got ours from Hallfords and I believe pretty much all Hallfords stock them. I think it is worth the money so that you can check them as and when
you please for that peace of mind.
Look they is even one on the old Ebay

Bike engine? Get quite a few metres of small bore hose from B+Q, some coloured food dye, a big bit of ply. Make up four manometers and voila.
Not very portable but very Lowcost...

Thanks to all those who kindly offered the loan of tools it was really appreciated, just a little too far to be practicable.
BenB - Thanks for the tip. A little search on Google, 10 minutes in the garage and I now have a manometer. I'll let you know if it works.
To those who have never met me, yet think they have the right to call me tight fisted.....go get a life (Why go out and spend money buying an item
that may be used twice a year, why not give a fellow car builder the opportunity to recoup a few quid against their initial purchase cost!).

Wow (right to call me tight fisted.....go get a life) . No body called you tight fisted. By looking at your car you are definatly not. I was only
letting you know that you can pick these ballancers up for around £15 and diddnt want to see you payying a tenner just to borrow one. Running a car
with the carbs out of ballance can serieusly affect the performance and damage the engine. Not having a Blown or damaged engine that could easly cast
hundreds to sort out in my eyes is worth every peny of a one off £15 investment?
