Strange electrical problem on R1

Well I'm finally on my 2 rest days (work in the newspaper delivery industry 6 nights on 2 nights off) since I got my exhaust off Chris zxrlocost, fired it up with the blade can on. boy does it rev freely compared to the blade, switched it off the bugger just kept running although not as sweetly (no it's not ignition timing)
The usual switches have been bypassed ignition switch removed and relevant wires joined together.. Power comes up from battery to isolation switch (not the type that lets any power through ) then up to starter relay from then on it's std wiring.
Any-one got any idea what's going on
Tony

hi iv done this before have you have joined the wire from the voltage reg to the wrong side of your on /off switch and its taking power from the genny and keeping running on its own

Thanks Malc will have a look at that, a mate of mines just been round and he seems to think because I've shorted out or left open the engine kill switch (as in I ain't got one . I thought by having a battery isolation switch that would kill the power) that it is as you say self powering the system, his thoughts are reinstate the kill switch and when you kill that side of it the relays will power down allowing the engine to stop
many thanks
Tony

You can't just switch off by turning of the battery feed. It'll run on the reg' feed and could also spike the ECU.

You need the ignition switch in circuit. Just the primary side will do (red + brown/blue wires). Bypass the secondary side (blue/black + blue/yellow wires ). Also leave in the stop switch if you want to run diagnostics via the R1 dash.

Rob Colligridge's Fury build site http://www.robcollingridge.com/kitcar/ has a good description but it seems to be down at the moment.
