engine sensors
I picked up my blade engine today, I need to get a coolant temp sensor, oil pressure switch and thermostat.
I have 2 questions shall I upgrade the oil pressure switch and thermostat or use standard items.
If I use upgraded items, what spec do I need?

If it's an injection engine you're best sticking with the standard coolant temp sensor. Anything different and you'll confuse the
ECU which will screw up power and MPG unless you're very lucky. If it's carbs and the coolant temp sensor is only for a dial then
you're best getting the one for that specific dial....
Oil pressure switch and thermostat can be stock (in fact it makes sense to keep them that way)....

Personally Id replace the oil pressure switch for an oil pressure sensor wired up to a decent guage. The pressure switch is set very low (under 10psi)
so as not to come on at idle, but that means its all but useless at indicating impending doom from oil surge etc. The thread is 1/8BSPT I IIRC, but
mount the sender remotely as they have a tendancy to not last long when bolted straight into a high revving engine.
