HELP!! Which Harness?
I'm really confused now, it seems the popular choice is Sabelt. Standard lenght or short??
What I need to know is can I confidently buy ANY 4 point harness and be sure it will fit my 7?
Or, do I need a SPECIAL set, specifically shortened like the TRS Westfield version (that I cant find in black)
HELP!!!!!

AFAIK standard lenth would be for saloon cars.
Short would be for caterham/westfield.
i think the difference between the two is how they are mounted, ie clip on or bolt on, to the rear top mounts.

...then again, it depends where you are in relation to the mounting points. My ST seems to have a long cockpit, plus I am a shortar$e, so my seat is
well forward and I had to exchange the "normal" belts for longer length ones

Yep, I think the short ones are for sevens - standard ones are made to mount on the parcel shelf in a saloon car. Most companies do a westfield or
caterham fitting - I think westfield ones have the mounting plates to bolt through, while the caterham ones have snap hooks for mounting to eye bolts.
Take a look at merlin's site for a range - they sell the correct ones (in black) - Claire's dad fitted them to his Spire.

I bought my harnesses from MAC#1. Sabelt and perfectly OK for use in an Indy.
However, Jon Ison did suggest getting them from TRS, with the lap belts reversed. Having tried to tighten "normal" lap belts in a 7 with
a high side rail and a tall centre tunnel it can be a bit tricky. As I understand it rather than pull down to tighten, you want pull up to
tighten.
I'd give TRS a ring, they are in Salisbury if I recall correctly. They should know exactly what you need.
If you don't fancy that, ring the lads at MAC#1 and they'll deliver the seat belts the next morning! and you can cross that job off your
list!

i have the trs Westfield version in black they are shorter than normal ones and come with eye bolts just the job and adjust up easily about £90 can
check up where i got them from if you want

Thanks, sorted now, just ordered the same off Jam. £120 with the posty's bit on

And worth getting wider shoulder straps (3 inch) - I've crashed with 2" ones and they do give you bruises...
If you're not living life on the edge you're taking up too much room.
