Electrical cut off
For racing (and saftey) you need an electrical cut off switch right?
Ok then my question is: is the switch on the ignition or on the battery terminal as on the battery terminal will shut off every thing, but can the
engine continue to run with the ignition connected like older cars I doubt it due to the ecu etc but just to make sure.
Any help is much appreciated
Cheers
Ben

i seem to remember that the electric cut out often also cuts the altenator as well, so it all dies. It is still possible to bypass it so that some
circuits can be left in, though i cant think of any examples of what you would want to leave live.

hi
you need an fia approved switch + a large resistor preventing th engine to run on the alternator power once shut off, ;
this will otherwaise harm the alternator.
demonthieves+raldes sell em i think

Here's the link to a page on my site dealing with battery cut off switches and how to wire them.

The sidestand switch does a pretty good job of stopping my bike engine as does the kill switch. If you could incorporate these with a battery
disconnect would it be acceptable?.
yours, Pete.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

KIll switch
I agree with Pete - we're using our sidestand as secondary immobilization. Depends on loom but most bikes now have this as a safety feature.
Incorporating the standard kill switch from bike cuts engine using CDI therefore it is dead. (albeit battery power still feeding).

Ive got mine wired up for the battery kill plus the old kill switch button from the wiring loom lke others have mentioned. Not sure if that alone
complies with FIA regs or not tho
