Can I mount my radiator upside down??
I'm building an Indy with a ZX12 block and using a Polo radiator. Ideally I would like the rad inlets to be on the opposite side and wondered
if I can simply turn the rad upside down to achieve this??
The thermostat is half way down the rad so it will be in the same position upside down and I will conveniently have a drain point at the bottom which
can be plugged during normal use?
Anyone see an issue with this??

yes, makes no difference.
unless there is a filler which might be a bit amusing check if there is an overflow pipe, that should always at the top to let vapour out.

Polo rad is sealed apart from the fan switch - and that doesn't mind being upside down either

My Polo rad has an outlet to the expansion tank at the top in addition to the flow and return. Wouldn't this cause problems being upside down?

I'm using a Golf header tank as an expansion tank (as tired and tested by others) and intend to block off the expansion outlet as the header is
mounted on a T.
The outlet on the rad will be at the bottom so I will blank that off and use it to drain the system shoul di ever have to?

I spent some time looking at expansion tanks in scrapyards and found that the Ford KA has a very compact pressure cap version with an expansion inlet
which is the same size as the polo radiator outlet.
It's so small I managed to mount it on the front chassis top rail under within the nose cone.
