r1 fuel line query
Having looked at my R1 in pipe for fuel (03 model) I see that there is a strange connection at each end and it feels like there is a pipe inside the
fuel line.
I was wondering how to remove this before I try the good old brute force and ignorance method. Also with the fuel system being so pressurised I was
wondering would a fuel clip suffice to hold a fuel line on the engine part and at the copper pipe end.
cheers

Believe the connection just squeezes together and pulls off.
Am using copper pipes on my 02 5pw with a slightly flared end and a proper fuel hoseclip without any problems. As long as you can get the fuel pipe
over the ridge on the inlet pipe (engine) and outlet pipe (pump) and hoseclip it that should be ok too.

Some of the R1 fittings have a 'security' bit (orange on mine) which slides out at 90 degrees to the pipe then you squeeze the grey
buttons to remove the fitting. I've attached my new hose to this fitting as it's really easy to disconnect then!

thanks for the info - had a look and mine has the security bit as well.
llsdweb - see what you mean about the security bit being useful - will try and see if I can use it

I just carefully cut off the original rigid hose and pushed an 8mm fuel hose on to the fitting, then clamped it up with a hose clip. It seems fine so
far under pressure.
