HELP ! R1 No Spark - NOW FIXED

Tried starting my R1 5vy engine today for the 1st time but cant get it to spark... well I get 1 spark when I 1st turn the key then nothing !

I also get no power from the fuel pump feed, could it be related to the above ?

Only thing I can think of is the lean angle switch, However I originally had the lean angle switch installed in the up position but then replaced with a 470 ohm resistor but still the same problem... if I remove the resistor or the lean switch I get the same, 1 spark then nothing ?

Any help or suggestions apreciated.

Cheers,
Kosmo

R1 experts will be along to help I'm sure but what about neutral ? Have you done anything with this ?

I thought the engine would not turn over if the bike was not in neutral... at present this is connected to the switch, how should I connect or bypass ?

from memory when I was trying to start my engine for the first time, a single spark and then nothing was caused by poor earthing, check that you have good contact on all the earth wires and that you haven't missed one out.

IIRC You can start in gear IF
* the side stand is up
AND
* the clutch is pressed

Thanks for all the help and extra thanks to Chris Mason, after speaking to Chris on the phone and a few checks we found an earth missing from the ECU, (I cut it off !)Once connected the engine fired up 1st time and I must say it sounds great.

Thanks,
Kosmo
