Motorbike engines have lots of interlocks to stop you from starting the engine unless you're in neutral, clutch down, sidestand down etc. You
need to make sure they're all correct (or earthed, sometimes via resistors etc) before you'll get any sparks....

If ti was any of the interlocks it wouldn't turn over. Which way up is your tilt switch? It sould have the word "UP" on the top, not
on the side with the word the right way up.

Does your fuel pump prime when you turn the ignition on?

I'm afraid I'm no help to you on this electrical subject as the engine was wired in before I bought my car...
... but wanted to say how nice it is to hear of another Fazer engined owner.
They say the Fazer is the same as the R1 but I've learnt there are many differences. For example when my clutch went I found the mechanism is
completely different. NB: It uses plates with the same dimensions as the Yamaha R6, the R1's are much bigger.
You are welcome to visit (Leeds) to have a look at my wiring for inspiration. As a non road going 'racer', the wiring's fairly easy
to get to.
If you U2U me your e-mail addres I can send you scanned pages from the Haynes Manual which might help?

Are you using the original bike harness, it may have a 6-way and a 3-way connector for the cyclelock immobiliser, they both need a link fitted if you
have the cyclelock.
