'94 Blade, Rectifier wiring
Now ive got my engine running, i have found that the rectifier input wiring (the 3 yellow wires) are getting so hot they are starting to melt.
I thought that it didnt matter which way round these wires were connected, any ideas?
cheers.

regrec might be fubbard - honda had a knack of making crap regrec's in the 90's - leads to your battery giving up the ghost in the end.
Do you have a mate you can borrow one off locally to test?
Could also be wiring, but thought I'd give you the benefit of my experience

On my similiar part there is a larger green wire too. By its position it can only go to the pos/neg term or earth.
Anyone shed light please, sorry to hijack.

It doesn't matter which way the yellow wires are connected, think of the alternator stator as a triangle with each side being a coil and each
point being the wiring connector.
As already said Honda regs are pretty poor on some models, there is an excellent podtronics aftermarket unit available try

Hi
Had problems with my CBR400RR NC29 Baby blade.
Fitted a spare Suzuki GSXR600 Reg. I had . Worked for a while then that blew.
I then found the stator coils were U.S.
Thats was proberbly the cause in the first place.
When I checked the coil output first time using a 12v bulb across each pair it seem ok.
With a new coil it blew the bulb instantly.
Just a note I got my need stator from
Here
Very happy with their Service.
Note:
the wiring seem the same one many bikes.
3 wires to the coils (3 phases ) one to Chassis and one to battery 12v.

As said before they were a problem on the blades, I just replaced mine on my 92 RRN (brand new one from www.wemoto)
If you have beeen using it for a long time in that state your battery may well be shagged aswell, cos if the batt is not tip top it can cause the new
rect/reg to burn out.
I replaced batt aswelll and my wires do not get hot at all now, hope that helps
cheers colin
