is this a SVA fail?
the tabs are made from 2mm stainless. If they are a fail then can I cover them with that exhaust wrap tape?

The reason I asked if I can use the exhaust wrap tape is cos the Merlin catalogue say "for competiton use only" So the tape is Ok for road
use and SVA?

Exhaust wrap is ok for sva as long as the fixing ties have no sharp edges.

this shows the direction better. So the fact that its on the inside make no difference, its still a fail?

Are their edges with a radius less than 2.5mm accesible by a 100mm sphere?
If yes, then its a fail!!

The clamp at the extreme right of the latest photo looks accessible to the sphere, as well. Maybe that one can be swivelled round?

I have removed the clamp on the right of the pic and wrapped that along with the spring things with glass tape so hopefully that will be ok. All I
need now is a test date... yawn.

Should be fine. They check for sharp edges on the outside. I had exaust wrap on mine but was asked to remove to see what was under. I had covered
the clamp and collector. Turns out i didnt need it.
Thanks

Get yourself a sphere and check for yourself - mini football is about the rght size.
That is one beautiful exhaust - who supplied it?

I think that would be fine.
It is my understading that the sphere is only allowed to come from the front of the car so it shouldn't be able to get to the clamps.

I can certainly get to the tabs and springs with a 100mm sphere but only from the top down. Anyway, they are covered now so assuming they dont ask me
to remove the tape I might me ok.
The exhaust was made by Simpsons race exhausts.
