Fitting Acumen Gear indicator

Trying to fit an Acumen to a ST LOCOBLADE.

Using the Tacho feed, the speedo sensor from the fireblade engine. Car has no speedo so on the speedo sensor I am using a pos feed to one wire, one to earth and one as the sensor output

It recognises neutral but doesn't want to learn - any thoughts?

(company said fit a 10K resistor in pos feed)

As someone else once said 'LOCOST my Ar**
