emisisions
My indybird failed its sva today on emissions due to the CO reding being 1.2.
I have a cat in the exhaust and just wondered what other people have done to get through emissions testing. All the other readings were ok.
any help at all would be greatly recieved.

a fuel additive called 'emmision reducer' has worked for me in the past for MOT. If you try this then maybe take it to a local MOT center
first to save the trip to the SVA in case it fails!

ive just been informed tha it is possible to reduce emmissions with a power commander kit. This will make the engine run lean between 2500 and 3000
rpm for the test.
Does anyone know of this being done?

Easiest way is to reduce/increase the fuel pressure via the fuel pressure regulator at a local MOT garage and see what you can get. It's
usually possible to get close enough to pass with a friendly SVA chap, but it might run like a pig until you put it back afterwards.

Carnut,
Is the reading 1.2 because you aren't running an airbox? I have my SVA in less than 5 weeks and also will be using a cat (from the bike) and
assumed if it was OK for the bike then it would be OK in a car.
I had assumed (hoped!) that the ECU map would cope with the extra airflow of not using an airbox. Any details would be great so I can try and avoid a
fail on emissions if possible.

i am using an airbox as standard because i was worried that i would get running problems if i removed it.
Exhaust is 4-2-1 with a straight thru can but for emmisions testing i have a datona 600 can with a cat in it.
I think mine failed its emmisions because bike emmissions are far less strict than car emmissions.
I think i am going to order a power commander and make it run lean at 2500-3000 rpm. This will also give me a bit more power with my changed
exhaust.

Please let me know how the Power Commander set up goes. I can't even use an airbox under the bonnet of the Fury so I may end up with worse
emissions than your car. Are you going to set up your Power Commander yourself or get it done professionally?
