R1 oil pressure switch
Anyone found a suitable one?
I know that they need to switch off at about 8 psi. Although I have a gauge I like lights on my bright6 to work.......

I would suggest that an 8psi pressure switch is not worth having. If you are flying along at 10,000 revs and the pressure drops below that level, your
engine is probably a goona anyway.
What you need is a higher level alarm (say 25psi) that is only activated when engine revs are above say 4,000 rpm. This will then not annoy you at
idle and give you much better warning in normal use.
Typically this sort of functionality can be programmed into a digital dash.

Paul if it is a 25psi switch it will come on below that pressure.
It will be annoying at idle as that is around 8psi (so I have been told).
I just want to extinguish the bright 6 led as I don't know anyone who can save a bec if the pressure goes that quickly.
I have a capilary oil pressure gauge which is very accurate so I can keep an eye on it.
Looking on ebay I found a rover v8 switch with the following spec that should fit the bill:
Intermotor Oil Pressure Switch 50610
Fits the following:

2300, 2600 (SD1) 1977-83

The only other way is a pressure transducer and some sort of electronics that is linked to revs.
