Im fitting a 2.9L V6 engine to the car, but which radiator is best that will still fit inside the nose cone?
The radiator will be smaller than its intended original as fitted to the Scorpio, so im guessing an Oil Cooler would help also, to compensate for the
smaller Rad?
what kit are you building, most builders go with polo rad as they fit nicely into the nosecone. you could also have a custom one built if you need anything bigger.
Its not a kit, im building a locost from scratch. Ive built the frame, and have test fitted the nose cone. Just thinking ahead to keep an eye out for a bargain, but wondered what to look for!
give us a little more info on your build my friend, what engine you using for starters, the polo rad is good enough is you are running any 4 pot,
pinto, chv,zetec etc

You could try
AARON RADIATOR CO LTD . The entry/exit on the left plus a bung for the thermo sensor/left -- 535mm wide , 330mm deep -- plastic tanks/alloy
construction.
Their website shows every combination of widths , lengths and pipe positions so it's easy to find a fit and capacity. My car ran a little cool on
it's 600mm wide rad so the 535mm should be just right , once it gets the usual bottle of water wetter in .
In case it's useful to anybody else with a Zetec / both pipes left , the part number for this particular rad is --- 2VW129 or O.E. 171121253CJ VW

I've got a mk2 golf rad, they cooled the g60 and that was a powerful engine - If you're worried about it being too small put a header tank in too, my mates cobra has a 5.7 chevy with quite a small rad and a reasonable size header tank so you shouldn't have any overheating problems with a 2.9
I must be missing something...
First, why did radiator size make your car run too cold? Do you not have a thermostat?
Second, why on earth does fitting a header tank make any difference after the system is up to temp? I can see it acts as a buffer for changes, but if
your rads too small its still going to boil eventually, regardless of your header tank size.
IMO, fit the biggest rad you can within the nose and use a thermostat to do the rest.
