Sierra clutch pedal. is mine behaving or not?

Hey folks.

coming to the end of the build, but the clutch is causing some issues.

i'm using the sierra pedal box, and the clutch won't stay tight as it were.

when the pedal is released fully, the adjuster lets the big yellow bit go, and it turns round.

how to i stop this? the only was i can see is to put a bolt on the chassis infront of it to stop the pedal coming all the way back. this way it will keep hold of the yellow coggy thing in the position i set it.

or is mine just buggered and this all shouldn't be necessary?

cheers,

Martin

IIRC it's supposed to do that, but there should be a spring, so that when the pawl is released, the quadrant takes up any slack that has developed in the cable.

BTW, if you find that your clutch pedal movement is too much or too little, there are different sized quadrants. My pedal is a bit too much of a stretch and I've got a black quadrant to replace my yellow one, this'll give more movement of the cable for the same pedal movement.

had mine apart yesterday
should be a spring on the ratchety bit and a spring between the quadrant and the pedal
