Hi
I am building a locost from "the book" I have been offered a MK V cortina for a decent price (I think!).
I have the escort rear end (diff, axle, brakes) also have a type 9 gearbox.
SO I am wondering whether it is worth it? what else can I get from it? if the car has a V5 will the engine be enough to get an age related plate? will
the loom be suitable?
I get that there are a lot of questions there! but if someone or peeps could let me know whether it is even worth considering then that would be
ace!!!!
Thanks in advance
N3
I've used a Cortina rear axle on my car so you could potentially use that instead of the escort one.
If you had all those elements and the V5 an age related plate should be pretty much a certainty, I'd have thought.
I have a Stuart Taylor rolling chassis if you are interested in saving time.Unused.

Use everything from the Cortina except the gearbox, for which you substitute your type 9. Has to be near to the perfect setup for a seven.

Cutting up a Cortina, shame on you!
I used a cortina as a single donor for mine.Made the chassis 4in wider. I think if you make the wishbones 1in longer then the rack is ok without modifying.I used the loom, instruments fuel tank connections, in fact everything I could.
