choice of sierra
tombrod - 3/3/04 at 05:48 PM

we are going to use a sierra as our donor, can anyone tell us what to look out for, and what to avoid? what modifications will we need to make to one of the mcsorley chassis, and which one of these should we base it on?

Best to look for one with the single overhead cam engine. Preferably a 2.0lt.

Depends what you want really.

When it comes to the chassis- again what are you after? You can probably do the standard one if your car is going to be standard (as per book) with just the Sierra engine.

Just remember this rule of thumb:

The more you deviate from 'The Book' the longer the car will take to complete.

Anyone know anything about the Ford Cologne? 2.7, 145bhp from the factory tuned to god knows how much! Will it fit in standard? Will it need lumps and bumps for air?

there is absolutely craploads of info on the ford v6 motors, and the rover v8s arent far behind. try a search in the archive for a single term, the search engine buggers up sentances.

puma racing website has useful tuning info, plus many other sites too.

2.7? never heard of that one before

2.3 and 2.8 - same engine, differant capacities
2.4 and 2.9 - same engine, differant capacities.

all 4 above engines share the same block.
