both have type 9s, essential for my fury build. the 1.6 has done more miles 111k and the 1.8 cvh has done 81k.
not bothered about the engines themselves as i'm going to zetec it. but i'm wondering if their will be any advantage from either in the way
of diff ratio and gearing. i'm building a road car with most likely a 2.0 ze after market management. although i haven't ruled out a 1.6
4age 20v from RaW.
will the be significantly more wear on the 111k box/diff assuming both have not been abused.
thanks for any info.
wibble
My type 9 had done 210,000 miles in the sierra and 1000 miles in the MAC#1, it works perfectly. So I would say either one will be OK.

Not alot in it but the pinto will be older.
Could go CVH because the sump can be shortened and used on both CVH and zetec and the starter can also be transferred. Gearbox is likely to be in better nick too as its the later type 9 and the cvh couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding so won't have stressed it too much.
..and unless you get a pre-95 Zetec, then any of the above will work better for IVA
I'd go for the CVH for now as a lot of what you do (apart from the top hose routing) can be reused when you Zetec (exhaust on the right side,
engine mounts, etc). Is it a carb or injection 1.8?
