Can a sierra estate be used as a donor? Iv seen one on ebay that looks alright and isnt to far from me!
yep
is there anythink i wouldnt be able to use, For example i know a lot cant be used from the 4x4
my donor was a sierra estate 1.8cvh,
not much of a power engine but it,ll get me thru IVA as engine number matches the donor vehicle docs, maybe swap to zetec in the future as exhaust
exits on the same side
andy
can't use the prop. but i'd recommend getting a new single piece one made anyway
cool thanks guy's engine will be no good anyway as i plan on going BEC
Hi Andy,
I too am going the 1.8CVH / upgrade route.
What / How are you going to fuel the engine? Bike carbs or webers etc?
Len.
is it a diesel by any chance?
no it isnt a diesel, can i assume that a deisel sierra would be a ok donor if not using the engine!
Diesels give you that hens teeth wanted diff which some BEC boys pay good money for
What steering rack do you need for the indy R james ?
The old indy used a sierra manual rack which MK then modify, which is an exchange item when collecting your kit.
Power steering rack is of no use.

My donor was an 89F 2L Auto Estate.
MK took its prop OK in part-ex for the shortened one (non-standard because of the autobox being longer)
The diff is 3.38 (I think - still not done a wheel/prop rev count)
John.
Mine was a 89 estate, with a 3.62 diff runnin a pinto ,has it still got the tag on diff housing?
