Hi guys,
My dads Omega 2.5td Saloon has started to overheat really badly, so he bought another car to replace it, but is still trying to get the other one
going. Hes hoping it may be water pump or thermostat, but if it turns out to be head gasket or anything else expensive, hes gonna need to scrap it.
Knowing I want to build a kit car he said I could have it if its any use.
Now I know the answer will be anything can be used, but I can't weld (not yet anyway) so would have to buy a kit (ideally an Indy R), so it could
be a problem. Would MK, or any other manufactures, make the diff mounts etc to suit or am I better off using a sierra? We just hate to have to throw
it away after all these years, lol, its like part of the family, lol.
Would there be enough I could use in it to get an age related plate?

learn to weld and build a haynes roadster i believe omegas have been suggested as a suitable donors
lol. I really can't see me building a car from scratch, it'll just never get done. lol. I want a car to drive, that I know how to work on,
so building a kit is ideal, and I havn't got any fabrication experience at all.
I don't want to spend the next 5 yrs building car from a doner that was free, rather than spending a couple of hundred quid on a sierra and being
on the road in a year. Was hoping it would have been a case of jiggling a few brackets around and bobs your uncle.lol.
Never mind, Il just have to keep convincing the missus to let me fill the garage with an old sierra. lol

Theyr a dam great engine for a kit but would be good!!
They suffer from cracked heads so it could well be that.

Yeah the engine had been brilliant since in the 8 yrs we've had the car, don't intend using the engine tho, was think about a petrol Vx
engine. Never mind, seems like theres alot of work. Do you reckong any of the parts are worth anything if I break it and stick it all on Ebay? And it
would give me some experience with taking a car apart.
If it isn't dead tho, I may still have it off him to use to go back and for work as its better on fuel than my IS200. Does anyone know how fleet
insurance works? Or is there another way for both me and the gf to drive all 3 cars. I just want to try and keep the mileage down on my car if I can.
I do 50 miles a day round trip to work, so a diesel would be better, and just keep my Lexi for best.
