Does anyone happen to know what the proper name is to ask for when buying a replacement for the rubber gaiters on the end of the driveshafts and the clips etc. is there a kit for this??

Rich.

Shortie,

Ford do do a kit for these but for your reference below are some part numbers:

4x4 rear:
Drive shaft boot:- 95 SX4K258 EA (£9.50)
Retaining strap 72mm:- E86 3119S100
Retaining strap 33mm:- E863125S100

Cossie
Drive shaft boot:- 77 GG4697DA
Retaining strap 72mm:- as above
Retaingin strap (smaller one):- E86 3117S100

As I say they do do a kit which comes with the boot and the straps. Ask them for the whole kit.

Our "Fraud" Dealer was adamant that the box's he gave us were 'boot only' so we bought Grease and clips. When we opened the box's it was the full shooting match - new circlip's, grease (MD) and boots. Honestly, you can't get the staff these days!
