Crazy Jay,
I don't know which model have which ratio but if it helps, there is usually a little aluminium tag attached to one of the cover screws and this should have the ratio stamped on it. Mine is a 3.62:1 IIRC

Cheers,
Craig.

These tags are usually corroded off

Ratio Code
3.14 M
3.36 A
3.38 U
3.62 V
3.64 3
3.92 D
1.3 Carb 3.77
1.6 Carb 3.62
1.6 Eco 3.38
1.8 4sp 3.62
1.8 5sp 3.92
2.0 man 3.62
2.0 auto 3.38
2.0I man 3.92

The VIN plate has the details, but are sometimes wrong

this one should be a 3.38 then, but he's a bit wishful wanting more than £50 with no tax, test and the engine busted!

If i want car parts badly enough i usualy offer to pay the towing in charge, thats about £35 round here. Also point out that they will get an £80 fine if they haven,t put it on sorn yet, that frightens some people to death(and so it should) My understanding is that there are few valid grounds for appeal, if you are the registered keeper of an untaxed vehicle and you can,t prove you,ve sold, scapped or exported it you get a fine.
