donor car or donor parts?

probably should have researched this before i started to build the chassis but didn't.
I am having trouble picking up a suitable sierra at a reasonable price for my haynes locost and i was going to go through the IVA handbook a bit later in the build when the basics are sorted but just wanted to know what the ramifications are of not using a single donor re DVLA and IVA
I'm quite prepared to source parts from anywher as and when needed and from different brands but would have prefered the sierra as the haynes book and its building is based on this
I dont care about age related plates or emissions

It doesnt have to be from a single vehicle, ensure you keep all the receipts as the DVLA will want to see these. The main advantage of a single vehicle donor ie a Sierra is that you can retain an age related plate and not a Q plate

why do i have to show receipts to DVLA? what if i have no V5 for anything as it all came from parts?

Then you'll just get a q plate which isn't that bad anyway come mot time. cheers Rich
