OK, I just want to be first poster here
But, I do have a question?
What kind of price range do decent donor vehicles cost in the UK right now?
Normally most stuff here in the US is pretty cheap by comparison but there's many areas where anything that runs will fetch $500 (about 312 pounds)
I was fairly lucky to find an MR2 for $200 (125UKP), but how much would one cost in the UK?
A bloody fortune mate, about £500 for a really rough one that may make it back home.
Alan,
It's not an MR2, but my Sierra donor was free. I can rob another for bits that I forgot for free too, if I want.
I did have to pay scappy £35 to collect the shell, but still have bonnett, tailgate and a few other bits I'll try selling one day to recover that
outlay.

Sen quite a spate of donor Mk II escorts recently. Some roadworthy, some not. prices varying between £60 and £150.
Capris are a bit more expensive £200 to £500 for the ones I have seen recently.
If you look in classic ford magazine they seem to be under the impression that anything with a ford badge on it is worth four figures before you start
- Someone ought to tell them that old fords are only useful for one thing - and that is for taking apart and building proper cars out of!
PS Where in Florida Alan?

Sister in law in Miami, and brother in-law has a place in Vero beach. He's on the thin strip of land between river and sea with frontage onto the
river.. . Most excellent time was had sitting in the jacuzzi, drinking beer, watching the occasional dolphin swim by.
Wife does the Miami thing most years and I might join her next time .. . You never know. . .

cars like mr2 and mazda mx5 which seem to be mentioned in american donor terms, are frigging expensive.
A mx5 goes for 4k plus for a 12 year old one as there dont seem to be many crap ones about .
You can probably get a sierra for nothing if you advertised, cos it costs 50 quid to dump a car now at a scrappy - they dont pay you any more.
A back street dealer near me knocks some out for just over a hundred quid.
I bought my car as a 2 owner 70k miler granada E reg 2.4L V6 for 260 quid at auction. The people who trailered it to me were amazed I was gonna break
it.
