Anybody out there runing a 1275 spridget engine/transmission that would care to comment on the performance?

I have this and I have a "B" 1800 drive train I could use and would like to hear others opinions.

IMHO these are great in their respective cars (I'm looking for a midget resto project) but why use a big old boat anchor when you've so many other choices?
I think the 'B' running gear is pretty darn heavy for this application...

Performance should be as good as a 1300GT Ford. Of course the secret is to use Metro A plus head manifolds and carbs.
But beware I always found the 70s 1275 A series prone to valve, piston ring and/or head gasket blowing unlike the A series smaller versions.

The other thing is price 1275 Midget RWD engines and boxes are fetching crazy money as they are much in demand for converting 1500 Triumph engined Midgets and Morris Minors.
1500 Midget Triumph engines and boxes are cheap but it had a very fragile bottom end.

The B series is was a great engine but to heavy and under powered for a Seven .
The power is fixable - use a Rover 820 16 vavle engine but it is even heavier.
