Hi all,
Im stripping my 1990 sierra donor car. I have removed the rear propshaft and every manual / article tells me that the front propshaft should pull out
from the gearbox. Its got the rubber front coupling and will not pull out of the gearbox. Can anyone advise please??
Is it a type 9 box?? As it's a later model it maybe a mt75 box which I think dosent just pull apart but I could be barking up the wrong tree completey
type 9 deffinitely pulls out give it a bit of bash shock should help it of the splines
its an MT75, thanks for your quick response
Is the MT 75 not a bolt on jobbie?

From memory the shaft is fixed to the gearbox with 3 M10 bolts. HTH Ray
Thanks guys, any other help/advice is much appreciated. I'll attack this again next week as Im a bit concussed after splitting my head on the tailgate!!!
when I finish with the donor I'll be ditching the engine and keeping the box and prop, would I be better of splitting the engine and box in situ in th car or is this more hassle?
