My car is very tight on space, the handbrake does not have a lot of room on the floor. One of the shorty Caterham ones may fit.
Any suggestions on donor handbrakes from cars where they live under the dash - Some of the older Mercs had them.
Any others, small being the objective.
A lot of other makes used them including Ford and BMC but I am Pretty sure it would be impossible to get through IVA

We have a Hilux at work that has a handbrake under the dash to the left of the steering wheel and I have a feeling the Citroen 2cv had a simular set up.
Stewart has one of the Jap 4x4 under-dash 'pull' ones going spare if you need Ivan!

I'll double check that he's still got it and get some snaps. I'll MMS them through to your phone to make sure its suitable.
cheers Scott
Sounds like a plan....
Hi,
I fitted an umbrella handbrake on my first build, remember you will need a leverage multiplier for it. I got mine from a Toyota Hilux and paid about
£20 from a scrappy and that included the handbrake lever, the cable to the multiplier and the multiplier. If you u2u me with your email addy I will
send you pics.
regards
Bob
I've seen an ordinary handbrake mounted sideways on (horizontally) under the dash & behind the steering wheel, can't see any reason why it would be an IVA isssue as long as can be reached from normal seating position & it worked just fine!
