What Paint For Hubs / Upright & Carriers?
DixieTheKid - 10/4/11 at 01:38 PM

Info if you would be so kind please guys.

I have run all of my parts throw the my DIY Elecrolysis tank (thanks for the info on that to, saved me hours of work) and have cleaned up all the donor parts. I have already painted (hi-temp caliper paint) and re-sealed all the calipers so there pritty mush ready to go and i have also replaced all wheel bearings so all the sort of stuff it ready for paint.

My question is what is the best paint to use on the hubs, carriers, prop etc?

Im guessing that all i need is to prime them up and shot the with some matt black? Im going for a New Reg come IVA so its got to look new.

Chris

i've done mine in something called rustoleum, which sets like plastic. quite pleased with them, but they haven't left the garage yet.

hammerite tends to chip easily, POR15 is the stuff to get for second hand metal components...it's bullet proof.

I've used plasti-kote on some brackets recently - dries like gloss powdercoat. Very easy to use. Not sure how it will hold up to chip etc though..
