A bit of a theoretical question from something I've just seen on Ebay. I have seen a 1989 Mazda MX5, that has had it's 1.6 removed and a
2000 1.8 engine installed. If I were to use that as my donor, what would happen when it came to IVA and emissions classifications, assuming I wanted
an age related plate. And on the subject of age related plate, would I get an '89 plate or an '00 plate?
I doubt I'd do it for real as it just seems like too much of a headache, I'm just wondering what would be the outcome.
goes on the engine age for emissions not the donor car age

...and the age related plate goes on the year designation of the donor, not it's engine.
As an aside, I swapped the engine on my donor with the DVLA (but not physically) before I scrapped it. Made getting an age related plate easier for me
